It's been a long while.

My son doesn't know this blog exists, so I feel pretty safe posting on here the things I can't tell him.

The things he knows are that his joints are swollen to almost twice their normal size.  He knows he has severe arthritis.

What he doesn't know is the dr is also testing him for leukemia.  He is severely anemic.

I feel guilty that I made him go to school today.  He was so swollen and sore.  He got almost no sleep last night.  I coaxed him into it by telling him he only had to get through today.  Then it's the weekend and he has a dr appointment on monday.  So, no school for him then either.

He also has a pulmonary edema.  Fancy word for pneumonia.  Though he's had it since the end of may beginning of june.

He had a sever case at the end of school last year and they put him on antibiotics and he got better.  He had a chest x ray about a week ago and it's still there.

His pneumonia got so bad because he didn't run a fever or cough.  The dr didn't know how he was still walking.

His arthritis is the same way the dr doesn't know how he's walking and has the joint mobility he does.  His affected joints are his toes, ankles, knees, hips, the joints in his buttocks, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and jaw. Today he has pain in his neck.

We go back to the  Rheumatologist  on monday to find out the results of the last round of blood work.

that's it for now
